Luxor
Luxor, a city in Upper (southern) Egypt, is located on the east bank of the Nile River, approximately 500 kilometers (310 miles) south of Cairo. It is a popular tourist destination due to its rich history and abundance of ancient Egyptian monuments, including the Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, and the Valley of the Kings. Luxor was once the ancient city of Thebes, the capital of Egypt during the New Kingdom period (1550-1069 BC). The city was home to some of the most powerful pharaohs, including Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Hatshepsut. It was also a major religious center, with temples dedicated to the gods Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Here are some of the top attractions in Luxor: Luxor Temple: This temple was built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II and is dedicated to the god Amun.

Karnak Temple: This vast temple complex is one of the largest religious structures in the world.

Valley of the Kings: This valley is home to the tombs of many of Egypt's most famous pharaohs, including Tutankhamun.

Valley of the Queens: This valley is home to the tombs of queens and other members of the royal family.
